Are you still able to dual boot XP/Vista after a clean install ...
You have XP running and done a clean install of Vista using an upgrade disc and can dual boot XP/Vista. Some say once Vista is activated then XP will no longer function and therefore dual booting will not be possible Some say they can still dual boot and XP continues to run fine after months.

Upgrade and Downgrade
Could it be an unconscious desire for the makers of the cards and routers to force the users to upgrade the entire network? An unconscious in the sense that making sure that the Network card will be both XP and Vista compatible is an additional hassle. Perhaps it is more on a conscious level?

If you're doing an upgrade install those drivers that will work in Vista will carry over; all other drivers, and if a clean install of Vista, all drivers have to be installed, either from the Vista DVD or through windows update or get them from the device manufacturer's web site and install manually.
